The costs of the passenger vehicles of Tata Motos have been hiked by three per cent because of rise in the costs of inputs. A statement issued by the Tata Motors Company on Monday 2 June confirmed this news and it underscored that the price hike will be effective from the very same day. It was informed that the rise in the price of the company’s Indica, Indigo and Indigo Marina cars will be in the one to two per cent price range.
The statement issued by the Tata Motors Company further informed that it would increase the prices of Sumo and Safari in the range of two to three per cent. ‘The price increase was necessitated due to the continuous increase in input costs,’ the statement pronounced. The announcement by Tata Motors Company that it will increase the cost of its products has followed that of Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai’s made the previous month.
