Taslima Nasreen, the controversial writer, came back to New Delhi after spending four months in Sweden. After her arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, she was right away taken to the house of foreign diplomat by security agencies. In March, she was asked to leave the country following immense protests due to her writings, which criticize Islam and its treatment of women. The Government has notified that her visa, which expires on Aug 12, would be extended but she wouldn’t be offered permanent residentship of the country.

Further, she has been told not to give any upbeat interview or write anything that upsets the sentiments of countrymen. Since 1994, Taslima Nasrin has lived in many countries in exile such as France, Sweden and India. She first stayed in Kolkata, then Jaipur and finally in Delhi, but she was made to leave India finally. Taslima Nasreen has been the recipient of many awards. After her two controversial books Lajja and Dwikhondito, she got involved in various controversies as her books stirred the sentiments of the Muslims.
