About 15 people, including 6 UN officials, have reportedly been killed after heavily armed Taliban militants attacked the UN guesthouse in Kabul today morning. The militant have been reported to be suicide bombers.
Soon after the firing started off at the UN guesthouse in Shar-e-Naw area of Kabul, a rocket fired off from a still unknown location hit a location near five-star hotel Kabul Serena.
About 6 UN employees have been reportedly killed. Six foreigners along with three militants have also lost their lives in the fight. Taliban has claimed the responsibility for this siege.
The fighting comes ahead of a presidential runoff election Nov 7.
