When the film Taare Zameen Par, themed on a dyslexic child, got screened, it not just touched the hearts of thousands of people but also stimulated the society to review the prevalent education system. Aamir Khan, who, apart from directing and producing the movie, also played a small but significant role in it, now plans to dub it in sign language. This is being done for the advantage of those children who are hearing and speech impaired.
The idea of dubbing Taare Zameen Par in sign language was inspired by Anand Mook Badhir Kendra, an Indore-based NGO. Gyanendra Purohit, who is the director of the NGO, informed that all of TZP film’s dialogues and songs would be screened in sign language so that the children could also enjoy the movie along with others. He further added that it was also being planned to include the film in their education syllabus.
