A 13-year old girl from Pune succumbed to swine flu on Tuesday morning, taking the death toll to 8 in India
Shruti Gawade of Ahilyadevi School succumbed to H1N1 virus in Maharashtra, taking the death toll of the state to 6. 5 of them died in Pune itself.
Shruti, a resident of Narayan Peth area, had been on ventilator since August 7. She had been brought to Sasoon hospital, Pune, in a very critical condition. She had been referred by a private hospital. This information was given to the media by Dr Pandurang Pawar, Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
Two persons had been the victims of swine flu in Chennai which include a 4-year-old boy.
