It feels as if swine flu does not want to stop its spread in India Two more people have succumbed to the H1N1 virus. A 44 year old woman from New Delhi and a 28 year old man from Bangalore were the latest victims of the deadly virus. This has taken the pandemic toll to 76, with 137 more reported to have been infected with the virus.
Usha Jain, of Faridabad, near Delhi, who had been tested positive for the infection, succumbed to this deadly virus on Tuesday morning in the government-run RML Hospital. The death has been confirmed by the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, N K Chaturvedi.
With this death, the total death in Delhi due to H1N1 virus has become three.
"Her condition was very critical from day one of her admission to the hospital. She had suffered three cardiac arrests and her BP could not be maintained at the normal level despite medication," he said.
Jain, who had been showing the symptoms of the viral infection including from fever, breathlessness and joint pain, had been admitted to the hospital on August 21. She was immediately shifted to the ICU and put on a ventilator.
The details on the 28 year old man who passed away in Bangalore are not yet available.
