The Suvarnabhumi International Airport at Thai capital of Bangkok fully operated on Monday (December 8) after a long seizure by the anti-government protesters. On Monday all international flights from across the world resumed their operation to and from the airport. According to the Airport Supervising Body of Thailand (AOT) it is one of the busiest air ports in Asia.

Earlier on November 25th all the service at the airport was suspended because of the seizure of the airport by the anti-government protesters particularly the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD). They occupied the airport for long eight days in a showdown against the coalition government led by Premier Somchai Wongsawat and his People Power Party (PPP).

The seizure was called off as a result of the ruling of the Constitution Court on December 2 to disband the three ruling parties in the coalition government, including PPP resulting in stepping down of Somchai, whom the PAD depicted as a proxy of ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra. As the occupation was called off the PAD handed the airport to the AOT.

According to a Bangkok Post website on Thursday the AOT will call a meeting with related agencies to estimate the cost of damage caused due to illegal seizure of the airport by the PAD. It is also likely to discuss the action to be taken against the PAD for the unlawful occupation of the airport and resulted loss.
