Renowned English Novelist and Columnist, Shobha De is ready with her yet another book ‘Superstar India: From Incredible to Unstoppable ’, which is about her concern for middle class India’s efforts to come to terms with globalization. Her book was launched by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan at an event organized by Penguin Books India and Taj Mahal Mumbai. Adman Suhel Seth read a few excerpts from the book at the launch of the book.

At the launch of her book at Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai, De also engaged in interesting conversation with Hindustan Times, Advisory Editorial Director Vir Sanghvi. De told Vir Sanghvi that her book in many ways is a response to western generalizations. She remarked that she is tired and upset of hearing clichés like ‘India is poor, India is backward’.

The famed columnist asserted that India is not feeling poor any more and to view the young India is exhilarating. Shobha De however added that she is saddened by the breakdown of Indian family in the times of social change. Also present at the launch were Civil Aviation minister Praful Patel, Penguin Chairman John Makinson and yesteryears actress Tina Ambani among others.
