With the mall culture catching up fast on Indians, it was announced by the Suncity Projects on Saturday, July 26 that it is going to invest Rs 8000 Crore in order to create 10 retail malls across India in the coming six years. Suncity Projects Vice-President (Retail) Vijay Arora, said, ‘We will start with four such projects in northern States where Rs. 2,000 crore will be invested.’

 

Vijay Arora added that the company would thereafter extend its proposed mall project to six more cities in various states of India. Speaking to a group of media persons, Mr Arora informed that the ‘retail cities’ would be known as ‘Jewel of India.’ The proposed mall would be built at Greater Noida, Indore, Jaipur and Mohali at the initial stage.

 

He said that these malls will house top brands of India apart from also providing space to local art and crafts and entertainment industry. At the same time, these projects will allow setting up of hotels, offices and entertainment zones within its premises. Mr. Arora said the projects would be funded through internal accruals and debt in equal proportion.
