Strides Arcolab, a pharmaceutical major, has launched the anti-swine flu drug, Starflu, on Friday.
Starflu, which comes as capsules and can help in the treatment of swine flu, was launched, says a regular statement filed by Strides Arcolab with Bombay Stock Exchange.
Starflu, a standard Tamiflu - Oseltamivir version, can be bought over-the-counter. The anti-swine flu drug is priced at Rs 460 for 10 capsules.
"Strides has the requisite stocks of Starflu to adequately supply and service the retail demand for this drug," Strides Arcolab President Nitin Ghadiyar said.
This initiative has been adopted by the company in wake of the Government’s approval to restrict the retail sales of Oseltamivir, which is used for the treatment of H1N1.
