An online travel magazine The Smart Travel Asia, in a recently concluded survey titled 'Best in Travel Poll' on the Low Cost Carriers (LCCs), has listed New Delhi-based SpiceJet as one of top ten budget airlines in Asia. The results were declared on the basis of findings of the survey between May and July on LCC. The factors that contributed the selection of Spice Jet in the top 10 ranking includes reliable schedule, competent service, and of course, extensive route network and access. Besides this, the CIO magazine has also awarded the 'CIO 100 award' to SpiceJet for its technological innovations in aviation industry.
The Chief Commercial Officer of SpiceJet Ltd said in a statement that the aviation company is delighted to receive such a global recognition. According to him, SpiceJet will take up all possible measures so as to ensure its consumers maximum benefits at an affordable cost. The airline is currently operating 94 flights daily to 16 Indian cities. SpiceJet has developed into one of the most popular low-cost airlines since its inception in May 2005. In terms of market share, it is the second largest low-cost airline in India. In 2007, SpiceJet has also won the title of low-cost airlines in South Asia and Central Asia.
