There is some good news for internet lovers. For those complaining of slow speed, Qwest has announced that it is going to offer fiber optic internet services with connection speeds of 12 Mbps and 20 Mbps. The fast internet services are a part of Qwest's fiber-to-the-neighborhood (FTTN) expansion. The 20Mbps internet service is known as Qwest Connect Quantum and the 12 Mbps option is known as Qwest Connect Titanium.
Both these internet services have Windows Live security features. One can access the Quantum Service at a price of US$100 per month whereas the cost of the Titanium service is US$47 per month. In 2008 these services would be available in Qwest's 23 top markets across 10 states of the USA.
Qwest said that with these internet services, surfing the net will be fast and users will get more value for their connections. Qwest also has plans to spend $300 million to bring the latest fiber optic technology to internet users. With these internet services, Qwest has joined the club of high speed fiber based internet services. The other two are AT&T and Verizon.
