Spanish golf legend Severiano Ballesteros launched his cancer foundation, to help people suffering from cancer as well as aspiring golfers from poor background. Ballesteros said at the Madrid-based foundation that he wanted to do something to fight the disease. 

Ballesteros, 52, has won British Open three times and US Masters twice. He is at present recovering from brain tumour that was diagnosed in October 2008. He underwent surgery four times and finished his sixth session of chemotherapy in Madrid last week.

He said that he is lucky and his desire is to help others. He sent out a beautiful message saying that people have to fight and not give up till the end and the victory would be theirs. But he admitted he was fortunate to survive.

He said he had been given a second chance and not everybody is fortunate enough to get one and he wants to contribute to the investigation against cancer in a way that the experts could solve the menacing problem one day in the future. He signed off by saying the doctors had removed bad things from his head and he was feeling a better person.
