Spain has been favourite among bookies before the tournament and Spaniards are not putting them wrong too. In the semifinal of Euro 2008 played at Vienna, Spain defeated Russian team by 3-0. Spanish team has made to the final after a gap of 24 years.  Spain di not do too well in first half but in second half  Xavi, Daniel Guiza and David Silva came with flying colours and scored goals for Spain. Final is going to be tough for Spain as it will play without David Villa, the leading scorer of the tournament who has suffered a leg injury.

 

Spanish coach Luis Aragones talking about his team’s performance in the match said that he had been nervous as his team did not do well in the first half. He felt relieved that in the second half his team was able to play more freely and rediscovered the game. He knows the challenge of meeting Germany in the final when he says that it would be hell of challenge. Defeated team’s coach Guus Hiddink said that there could have only been one winner, and the Spanish were excellent and deserved their victory. He added that he is obviously disappointed by the result, but despite that he is proud of his team.
