According to a source, the launch of the first carrier rocket of the South Korea is scheduled to happen to the 25 Aug 2009. The first carrier rocket will be launched from the Naro Space Centre of South Korea.
The launch of the first South Korean carrier rocket, KSLV-1, had been scheduled initially for Aug 19. But it had to be postponed to Aug 25 due to a technical issue.
According to officials, the Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1 (KSLV-1) will be carrying a satellite with it.
The first rocket carrier of South Korea has been developed as South Korea-Russia collaboration. The rocket has been built for the delivering of small satellites into low orbit. This rocket carrier has the ability to take with it a maximum load of 100 kg.
South Korea has plans to develop yet another rocket named KSLV-2, which it plans to launch by 2018.
The Naro Space Centre is the first space centre of South Korea. The space centre which has been developed on the Naro Island, which lies at a distance of 500 km to the South of Seoul, got over only in June.
South Korea has been involved in space research since 1996 and has launched 11 satellites from foreign nations.
