Sourav Ganguly may have put in papers from the international cricket but he has agreed to play for Bengal in the coming Ranji Trophy matches. The Cricket Association of Bengal on Monday (November 17) announced that the Prince of Kolkata would soon be found hanging around the wickets. The recently concluded India-Australia series witnessed the end of Ganguly’s international career.

Announcing the decision, Cricket Association of Bengal joint-secretary Arun Mitra said that Sourav has agreed to turn out for Bengal in the coming Ranji Trophy matches and is likely to start the season with the plate group match against Vidharbha at Nagpur starting December 12. Though Ganguly was present at the Eden Gardens to watch the match between Bengal and Services, he himself refused to talk to the media about his decision. Bengal, meanwhile, won’t have Ganguly in their squad for the match against Tripura at home, starting November 29.
