The recently retired India's dynamic one-day opener, Sourav Ganguly seems to be destined to remain connected with the national board as he has been nominated as a member of the BCCI's Technical Committee. The former India captain had retired from all sorts of cricket barely a week ago. The news of Ganguly's inclusion in the board was confirmed by the BCCI secretary N Srinivasan.

Former captain Sunil Gavaskar will be the chief of the technical committee. The other members of the committee include former test batsman Chetan Chauhan, national selector K Srikkanth, MV Sridhar, Biman Bhattacharjee, Milind Rege, Gyanendra Pandey, VK Ramaswamy and N Srinivasan. The technical committee of BCCI will take decisions on cricketing matters and rule changes. With the inclusion of former cricketers like Gavaskar, Chetan Chauhan, Srikkanth and Ganguly, the committee is supposed to reap immense benefits as each of these players has vast cricketing experience.

The former Indian captain, Ganguly had earned many laurels during his playing days. He was instrumental in injecting the habit of winning in the Indian cricket. Ganguly even taught team India the winning mantra which helped it to register series of victories in foreign soil. With his more than 20 years of cricketing experiences, 'the Prince of Calcutta' is likely to contribute hugely to the national board.
