Sony has kept its tempo in the portable media sector by launching its slim walkman A840 for the customers. This may be a strategy to compete with the rivals including Samsung’s IceTouch and MyFit.

The new Sony walkman A840 sports a 2.8-inch OLED screen to feed TV content in standard definition. But, the notable thing is that, it is the thinnest model in Walkman series media players.

The set is only 7.2mm thick and comes with black and brown colours. There are three storage capacities for the model like 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Sony has incorporated certain advanced technologies such as S-Master Digital Amplifier for clear and crisp sound. Similarly the Digital Clear Audio technologies are put to offer low-level frequencies and preventing any leakage between the channels.

Additionally, Dynamic Sound Enhancement technology has been added for smooth conversion from CD to MP3. The other features include Digital Noise Cancellation with the Vertical in-ear headphones, drag and drop option from PC to iTunes 9.0 using bundled Content Transfer software and music playback for 29 hours.

The Sony Walkman A840 has all the necessary requisites like audio formats like MP3, WMA, AAC, HE-AAC, ATRAC, ATRAC AL, MPEG-4 and WMV to offer a nice play option to the user. So with around 9 hours of video in a single watch and 29 hours of music playback, the Sony A840 walkman is surely a nice pick for the buyer.

This Sony set is expected to reach the markets in February this year but with the 16GB storage version only.
