Sony has launched world’s first interchangeable lens HD camcorder, NEX-VG10E. This has as a pleasant surprise for the camera buffs as there were NEX-3 and NEX-5 interchangeable lens cameras already in the market.

The Sony NEX-VG10E camcorder is a full HD camcorder that is compatible with both the E Mount interchangeable lenses developed for the NEX-5 and NEX-3. It can also fit for the range of A Mount interchangeable lenses, through the LA-EA1 mount adapter, from the current alpha DSLR camera.

The other features of the NEX-VG10E camcorder include, an extra-large Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor with effective 14.2MP HD shooting and background defocus capabilities. The device can also be used for DSLR-quality stills and the 1080i AVCHD video.

More to it, the camcorder comes with an image-stabilised E18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens with 11x optical zoom range and there is either a Memory Stick PRO Duo or an SD card to save the media files. You can also view what you're shooting on the 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD with TruBlack technology.

Sound is excellent in the unit that is associated with Quad Capsule spatial array stereo microphone. There is an external mic like the ECM-CG50 Shotgun Microphone also that comes in paired with the NEX-VG10E.
