Four new VAIO computer notebook lines have been introduced by the Sony Company and this includes the world's first 16.4 inch wide multimedia notebook VAIO FW series as well. The VAIO FW Notebook is available in a number of configurations, including a premium and a standard model. Blu-ray Disc high-definition content such as movies with full 1080 HD resolution can be played on the premium model when linked to a suitable HDTV.
The premium model can also record, store and play back personal content on high-capacity BD media. The VAIO FW Notebook is just a little over six pounds in weight and sports the very first 16.4-inch display. For the Blu-ray Disc films, the display is just perfect. As a lot of high definition films are shot with 16:9 aspect ratio, the ultra-large LCD too is built with the same measurements.
It does away with the black bars that normally pop up, allowing one to watch films in their intended format. For those users who prefer seeing films on the big screen TV, the VAIO FW Notebook has got the HDMI output connector which can be used to view the content on an HDTV set. The FW series is also available with the VAIO Media software that permits one to wirelessly stream the content from the PC throughout the home network.
