Sony has unveiled its 18.7mm DSC-W190 and DSC-W180 Cyber-shot W series cameras. It has certain exciting features like Face Detection and digital SteadyShot.

The cameras feature a sleek metallic brushed chassis. The Face Detection feature can detect up to 8 faces in one scene and adjusts white balance and focus exposure. The Digital Steadyshot records two images in rapid succession thereby minimizing the effects of camera shake. It then superimpose the pictures to lessen the appearance of camera shake.

The W series cameras help in large format printing of photos with high resolution and vivid detail. This is made possible with the maximum 12.1 megapixel resolution coupled with 3x optical zoom, ½.33-type Super HAD CCD sensor and maximum 18x Smart Zoom.

When the Smile Shutter is activated, users need to focus on a face and the camera will capture the image when the selected face in the frame smiles.

The images are likely to have blurring effect when captured in low light environments or while capturing images of fast moving subjects. This is prevented with the help high sensitivity mode of up to ISO 3200. For other shopping environments both the cameras offer seven selection modes like the Twilight, twilight Portrait, Landscape, Soft Snap, Snow, Beach and High Sensitivity.

With the option of drag-and-drop style, these Sony cameras enable easy transfer of videos and pictures to a computer using a USB. Moreover, photo and video management is taken care of by the Picture Motion Browser ver. 4.2.01 software. Users can further attach mood-enhancing elements to their videos and pictures by employing the eDeo function. They also enable matching of photo frames, background music, text and sound effects. With Movie Tracer, users can combine movie frames to construct amazing panoramic images.

The new Cyber-shot W series DSC-W190 and DSC-W180 cameras in metallic red, silver and black colours, will be available at Rs. 9990 and Rs. 8990 respectively through autorised dealers and national retail partners across India.
