Somdev Devvarman and Sanam Singh of India entered the quarter-finals at the $50,000 Virginia National Bank ATP Challenger.
 
Third-seed Somdev ousted South African Davis Cupper Izak Van Der Merwe by 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 in his second round encounter on Thursday .He will face Dutchman Matwe Middelkoop in the quarters. The Dutchman had earned a 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over American Ryan Harrison.
 
Sanam, a University of Virginia sophomore and a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) semi-finalist last spring, had to struggle hard for a 1-6, 7-6 (1), 6-4 victory over American Scoville Jenkinson.
 
Sanam will take on American Kevin Kim in his quarter-final clash. The second seeded Kim, a regular on the ATP Tour, outclassed Ramon Delagado of Paraguay by 1-6, 6-2, and 6-1.
