Prateik Babbar arranged a special puja to observe his mother Smita Patil's 25th death anniversary on December 13.

 

Though every year a puja is arranged to mark the death anniversary of this actress, but it is usually a small family gathering at the Bandra residence with only her parents, Prateik’s cousins and close relatives.

 

However, this year Smita’s death anniversary will be observed in an elaborate manner. Prateik’s mother passed away when he was an infant of just 15 days. He was brought up by his aunties and his grandparents.

 

Prateik said, "Yes my grandparents wanted to have a pooja at home and the entire family will be together today."

 

Prateik will kick-start his filmy career this year with the flick Dhobi Ghat where he plays the lead character, but, unfortunately his mother is not here to watch Prateik shine in the silver screen.
