The Time magazine has named Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire' in its list of top ten movies of the year. Starring Anil Kapoor and Dev Patel, the film is about an Indian game show called 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. Based on Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup's novel 'Q&A' the movie deals with the story of a Mumbai slum boy who wins a jackpot on the game show. 'Slumdog Millionaire' bagged the seventh spot in the time magazine's list. The animated film named 'Wall-E' topped the list.
 
The film wowed audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival and also bagged an award there. It was also appreciated in Telluride Film Festival. More recently, the film's music director A.R. Rahman has been nominated for the Golden Globe award for Best Original Score. 'Slumdog Millionaire' earned a massive profit during its first-weekend release. The film grossed $418,000 in six cities during the first week of its release.
 
Apart from bagging four Golden Globe nominations, 'Slumdog Millionaire' clinched the best director and best music awards from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. The film has also won the Best Cinematography prize from The New York Film Critics' Circle and earned six Critics Choice Award nominations. The film set and shot in Mumbai is currently playing in several major cities.
