The clinching of exclusive catering rights by the SkyGourmet in the Lufthansa flights operating from Pune to Frankfurt has boosted the morale of the in-flight catering business in the city. As per the contract signed, the operation will initiate from July 1 onwards. SkyGourmet happens to be a part of the Mars Group of Hotels and Restaurants, which also operates the Gordon House hotels. Chintu Bose, the Pune manager (operations), Gordon House confirmed this news.
He further informed that they will serve all Lufthansa flights taking off from Pune for six days in a week. Mr Bose underscored that the SkyGourmet is also holding talks with the Kingfisher flights, one of which is already operational. The SkyGourmet Company is now searching for a location close to the airport to carry out its operations smoothly. At present, the food is prepared at Gordon House Hotel on University Road and then dispatched to the airport.
