A new Facebook application called ’Blog it’ has been launched by Six Apart, a blogging software company behind blogging platforms like ‘Movable Type’, ‘Type pad’ and ‘Vox’. By its new venture, Six Apart plans to provide free cross service blogging application to Facebook users. By this new application Six Apart aims at bridging the gap between blogging and social networking, both of which are immensely popular internet activities.
‘Blog it’ will enable Facebook users to update any Six Apart blogs along with Google’s Blogger, Live Journal and Word Press. ‘Blog it’ is perhaps the only or one of the very few applications that takes content created inside Facebook but makes it available for use outside Facebook. This endeavor is going to make more social after being associated with Facebook. The social networking portal, Facebook on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 also announced that it would eventually allow members to incorporate activity feeds from external social media sites like flickr.
