Virgin Atlantic head and billionaire, Sir Richard Branson is again in the news for something unusual. The 58 year old billionaire, who last year had performed a wedding in a Virgin Atlantic flight from San Francisco to Las Vegas, is ready to officiate over a wedding of a couple in space. After this feat, he will become the first person to wed off a couple in space, on Virgin Atlantic’s maiden sub-orbital flight next year.
 

A spokesman for Virgin Galactic revealed that they had two bookings involving marriage, which includes a request to celebrate honeymoon in space and the other being getting married in space. The spokesperson divulged that it is possible that Richard Branson could obtain the license to get a couple married off in space. The names of the couple who intends to tie the knot in space are not revealed as yet.

 

Sir Richard Branson in January this year unveiled a model of Space Ship Two, to turn space tourism into a reality. The Virgin Galactic project is already progressing at a remarkable speed. Two hundred people have so far have paid for the sub-space experience. The guests at the Virgin Galactic flight will enjoy a two hour long flight, go up to 70 miles above the earth and have some amazing glimpses of the planet. Those who will be boarding this flight will however have to first undergo a three day training programme involving G forces and weightlessness.
