In a significant decision the Singapore government has banned porn sites. The decision has been taken to save country’s social values. As the reports say this is a symbolic statement towards the ban of porn sites easily available to youths of the country. Jason Hoong, an official from the Media Development Authority (MDA) told media people that hardcore pornographic videos posted on sites are very easily accessible by young children. He further added that video starts streaming for free once a user clicks on the related link and because of this there has been moral sub-standardization of young children.

The sites which are banned have been included in “100 most impact objectionable pornographic websites’ banned in Singapore. The regulator declined to disclose the name of the two websites but local media has sited the names of YouPorn and RedTube. According to local media these websites facilitate downloading of sex videos. 

Singapore has very conscious towards its social values and possession, distribution and making of sex videos is totally prohibited by law. While some sections of society have welcomed the decision others are of the opinion that government is becoming moralistic and they don’t feel comfortable.
