Simmtronics Semiconductors Ltd, a manufacturer of Memory Modules, Motherboards and Graphics Cards has launched its first netbook PC in the Indian market. The Simmtronics netbook PC is powered by Intel Atom mobile CPU. It incorporates 2.5 watts thermal design power2 (TDP). The enhanced Intel SpeeStep Technology embedded in the netbook enables it to consume less power. The incredibly small Intel Atom processor of the netbook enables the users to enjoy videos or music, access emails, browser internet and access instant messaging.
The Simmtronics netbook uses a brand new design structure, the dynamic L2 cache sizing that reduces electrical leakage in transistors-to conserve energy. Moreover, the improved low-power sleep states (C1E, C2E, C4E) effectively condenses the performance state of the processor when it enters a package low-power state. The 10.2 inch-screen net book is available in red, black and white colors. With one year warranty, the Simmtronics Netbook is priced at of Rs 21,999. It will be available in India market from December 15, 2008.
While talking to media, Vinit Shangle, National Sales Manager, Simmtronics Semiconductors said that the company's decision to foray into Indian netbook segment is taken to explore growing bandwidth and Wi-Max opportunities in India. He also informed that the company has kept its distribution and marketing plans at a low-profile owing to ongoing economic slowdown and increasing numbers of delayed payments.
