In a breakthrough, Gujarat police acting promptly after Ahmedabad blasts has arrested 10 activists of the banned students’ organization SIMI. These people according to state police were behind Ahmedabad blasts, which claimed 57 lives two weeks ago. Mufti Abdul Bashar Kasmi has been the mastermind of the blast, claimed the state police.
Announcing it formally, Gujarat police has alleged Mufti Abdul Bashar Kasmi was traced and picked up from Sarai Meer locality in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The Gujarat police faced tough stance from UP police to take Bashar out of the state. However, they were able to convince UP counterparts in the end with the evidence of phone calls recordings of Bashar.
Later on Bashar was produced before the special CBI judge at Lucknow Rekha Dixit. Dixit allowed Gujarat police to take him for 3 day transit-remand. Earlier, Gujarat police had alleged that SIMI leader Safdar Nagori has been the mastermind of the blasts in recent time in places of Jaipur, Hyderabad and Bangalore, and after Nagori’s arrest, Bashar has been carrying the operations.
