Now ordinary people can have a better understanding of the RTI act and can access handy information about the procedures, just a click away. An e-portal dedicated to the RTI has been launched, designed by civic-activist Rishi Aggarwaal. The site according to Rishi is meant to facilitate the flow of information on responses to RTI applications. The web portal was launched by RTI activist Shailesh Gandhi on May 31.
The designer of the site significantly notes that many RTI applicants find it hard at finding information on crucial public matters. However, they are able to share that information with limited number of people as the media tends to cover only the notable RTI applications and responses.
The portal rtidirectory.com hence assumes importance as it will allow people to upload the initial application to a public authority and the response it received. The site also allows people to discuss and comment on individual application. The developers of the site are now working towards managing voluminous responses.
