The Shrek fish deemed to be the Asia’s ugliest fish has been found off the coast of Japan. The fish was discovered by scuba drivers and actually is an Asian Sheepshead Wrasse commonly seen off the Japanese coast.

The fish believed to be 30 years old garnered international attention as it resembles the Dreamworks animated ogre Shrek. The unique fish is pinkish-grey in colour with a large lump on its forehead.

The scuba divers could not stop themselves from taking a footage of the odd-looking creature when they came across it.The odd features made them instantly christen it after the famous animated ogre ‘The Shrek’ as it was quite similar in look. The fish not to be mistaken an ogre feeds on shellfish and crustaceans on the ocean floor and believed to be not as dangerous as it looks.
