'Shoot On Sight' is an upcoming movie based on the 'shoot-to-kill' policy that was adopted by London police, in context of suspected suicide-bombers, after the underground bombings on July 7, 2005. It has been directed by Jagmohan Mundhra and produced by Aron Govil. The star cast of the film includes Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Gulshan Grover, Laila Rouass, Arrun Harker, Greta Scacchi and Brian Cox. It showcases the dilemma faced by peace-loving Muslims, resulting from Islam extremism, racial profiling and Islam-phobia.
Tariq Ali is a Muslim police officer who works at Scotland Yard. He was born in Lahore and is married to an English woman. He is leading a happy life, till the underground bombings take place in London. In the aftermath of the bombings, London police adopts a policy to shoot suspected terror suspects at sight, which results in the killing of one person. Now, Tariq Ali is given the task of investigating whether the man who was killed was really a Muslim terrorist or an innocent person boarding the London tube.
The racial profiling that takes place after the bombings has already made the life of Tariq difficult, with his seniors distrusting him. Being in the police, he is also held in suspicion by fellow Muslims. With the new task at hand, he feels all the more traumatized. During the course of his enquiry, Tariq finds the man to be innocent. At the same time, he comes to know of the existence of a terrorist cell in his own backyard. Entrusted with the responsibility of making the right decision, Tariq faces the biggest dilemma of his life. What will he do?
