Indian actress-dancer Shobana will be depicting her very famous musical, ‘Maya Ravan’, which has been composed on Indian epic, Ramayana, for the Malaysian audience in Kuala Lumpur.
The whole credit for the musical should be given to this ace South Indian actress. This musical which has been conceived, interpreted and choreographed by her is aimed at providing the world audiences with an enhanced feel about the Indian epic. Top artists from Mumbai and Chennai will be a part of the musical with Shobhana donning the role of Ravan.
“Hailed as one of the most beautiful actresses of India, Shobana combines her three loves, cinema, Bharatanatyam and theatre, in this production”, New Straits Times said.
The musical, which has completed more than 50 shows over a span of two-and a-half-years, has performers from Kalarpana, which is the dance school owned by Shobhana.
According to Shobabah, ‘Maya Ravan’ "is made up of a fusion of world music and Indian film music".
