From August 17 onwards, the second season of the popular reality show Bigg Boss will commence on Colors and will be hosted by no other than the ravishing Shilpa Shetty. The TV audiences, therefore, can look forward to getting their daily doze of masala entertainment as its 14 celebrity participants bicker, lament, complain and rejoice as per their mood swings.  

Announcing the launch date, Rajesh Kamat, CEO of Colors, pointed out that Bigg Boss 2 will be the first reality show to be telecast on all seven days of the week. As in its previous version, the 14 inmates will have absolutely no contact with the outside world through any medium like phones, television, internet, books or even a clock. Moreover, they will be under the surveillance of over 30 cameras the entire duration.  

As Shilpa Shetty was the winner of the original British reality show ‘Big Brother’ last year, she appeared to be the best person to host Bigg Boss 2. The lady even has a word of advice for participants. ‘The winner needs to just be oneself, that’s the main mantra,’ the leggy actress quips.

Asvini Yardi, programming head of Colors, remarked that Shilpa Shetty will be more like a guide for these participants as she has personally undergone a similar experience. The brains behind the show, however, kept from divulging the names of the participants, which will be out on the very first show. The winner of Bigg Boss 2 will be awarded prize money of Rs 7.5 million.
