Antaheen is one Bengali film which many films lovers will wait for with abated breath as for the very first time it will cast veteran Bengali actresses Sharmila Tagore and Aparna Sen together. One can though say that the two of them were technically together in Satyajit Ray's 'Aranyer Din Ratri’ in which Tagore played lead and Sen just a walk-on part. But then they never came face to face in this particular film. 'My 'Antaheen' brings them together for the first time,' director Annirudh Roy-Chowdhary, therefore, remarked recently when talking about his new film project. 'I think some history is being created here. Both the ladies are extremely professional and helpful.

I couldn't have asked for more. Imagine working with the two legendary beauties in my second film,' he added. During the initial days, Sharmila Tagore left for Mumbai, leaving behind Kolkata to Aparna Sen to rule over. Sen, on her part, was never able to create a niche in Mumbai. Infact her declining the offer of the super duper hit film Aradhana turned out to be Sharmila Tagore’s gain later. But then there was no looking back for both ageless divas as far as career in the film business was concerned. When queried how he had managed this casting coup, director Annirudh Roy-Chowdhary stated that all he had to do was narrate the parts to ‘Rinkudi’ (Sharmila) and ‘Reenadi’ (Aparna) and they just fell in love with their roles.
