In the first round match of Table Tennis played at Peking University Gymnasium Sharath Kamal of India defeated his club mate Alfredo Carneros of Spain by 6-11, 12-10, 11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7.  Incidentally, both the players have played a lot in Spanish club against each other. Now, Sharath will fight against Chen Weixing of Austria in second round.

 

India’s hopes are still with TT delegation. Earlier, Neha Aggarwal had lost her first round match, but Sharath has given some hopes for India camp in Beijing. The match was tough, and Sharath lost games in the first and the fourth round. However, later on he managed the match in his favor and he won the fifth and sixth rounds, and finally the match.
