Recently Shakira's visit to the U.S. President Barack Obama in the White House has turned the media’s attention. The main purpose of the noted singer’s visit with Obama was to highlight her charity campaign that helps educate the underprivileged kids across the world.

Sharika, the actress of  ‘Hips Don't Lie’ fame is currently working as an ambassador for UNICEF and runs her own charity ‘The Barefoot Foundation’.

This charity venture which is to highlight the conditions of the impoverished children is made with the purpose that the children can have better access to education and lead a better life. However, the best part is that Shakira had made a giant leap in approaching the US president to help her contribute in her goodwill purpose.

It is quite an appreciative bold step that Shakira had took to highlight her campaign in the White House on Monday to seek raise fund for her welfare scheme.

Investing in children is the smartest strategy governments can use to boost economic growth, Shakira highlighted, "It was such a privilege to sit down with the President in the Oval Office to discuss our shared commitment to education and early childhood development. We agreed that investing in our children is the smartest strategy governments can use to boost economic growth, fight poverty, and promote global security and peace.”

This welfare scheme will be carried under the government’s support to help boost her mission successfully, the singer adds, "We will be working closely with the President and his staff to implement his vision - for Latinos, children in the United States, and around the world."

Last year Shakira had highlighted about her meet with Obama at England's prestigious Oxford University but it is good that she has finally made it.
