Shah Rukh Khan is the top taxpayer among actors; he paid Rs 34.2 crore as income tax in 2007-08 and came at number 13 among top tax payers. Similarly, Akshay Kumar with Rs 13.5 crore as income tax ranks 40^th in the list, on the other hand cricketer Sachin Tendulkar with payment of Rs 8.8cr as tax has been ranked at 81 in the top-200. Aamir Khan paid Rs 4.72 crore to IT.

 

Mayawati is the top taxpayer politicians and, in fact, ranks among the 20 top taxpayers in the country. In 2007-08, she paid Rs 26.26 crore as income tax. The most suspecting absence is one of Ambani brothers, with their huge capital they are not among top 200 tax payers, while their mother Kokila with Rs 4.46 crore as tax is ranked at 195.

 

In industrialists’ list the top taxpayer is Analjit Singh of Max, who is at 15^th position with Rs 31.49 crore as tax. Other top tax payers are Naresh Trehan (Rs 8.4 crore), Salman Khan (Rs 7 crore), Abdul Telgi (Rs 6.5 crore), Sanjay Dutt (Rs 5.8 crore), Aishwarya Rai (Rs 5.6 crore), Nandan Nilekani (Rs 5.16 crore), Himesh Reshammiya (Rs 4.89 crore), and Azim Premji (Rs 4.68 crore).
