The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar is working towards building a positive image of the Brand Bihar. It has been decided to promote the region this summer though its fresh and juicy fruits. Sources inform that the Bihar Chief Minister has directed gift baskets containing the region’s Shahi (royal) litchis and special Zardalu mangoes to be presented to the VVIPs residing in New Delhi.
These special sweet gifts will serve as a bid to establish the Bihar brand. The reality is that that the Shahi litchis of Muzaffarpur district and the Bhagalpur district’s mouthwatering Zardalu mangoes are recognized for their unique taste and flavor, but have not yet been marketed strategically both within the state and country. As such, it has instructed by the State Cabinet Secretary Girish Shankar to dispatch gift baskets of the said litchis and mangoes to VVIPs in the capital.
The state government has decided to send the juicy gifts by June 15 and for this purpose a long list containing 400 important names have been prepared. Heading the list includes the names such as that of the Indian President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Vice President Hamid Ansari, the Supreme Court judges, Union ministers and others.
