For Shah Rukh Khan's Ra.One, a channel has reportedly paid about Rs 40 crore to attain the satellite rights of his flick.

With this, the flick has become the first movie for which such a high amount has been paid for satellite rights and that too even before the movie got released. For Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots, the amount was a whooping Rs 36 crore. However, it is even more for King Khan’s Ra.One.

According to a source, "Shah Rukh is completely involved with every area of the film's marketing and branding. He's not only sitting with experts and drawing out several strategies, but is also coming up with his own. The film has a huge budget, so obviously, as a producer, he wants to make as much money through pre-release distribution avenues."
