Magnanimous Shah Rukh Khan had his taste of impact onscreen for his film ‘My Name Is Khan’ with an amazing record-breaking result at the box office internationally.

Shah Rukh’s Hindi film ‘My Name Is Khan’ has broken the record for the largest weekend opening ever in North America till date, which opened with an amount of $444,000 on Friday and accelerated to $734,000 on Saturday. Things are positively to go on a higher note in the future is expected from the film.

Reportedly, it has been heard that the Fox Searchlight release has made $15,500 from 120 theatres across the United States and Canada over in the first weekend. Previous gross record of Shah Rukh's ‘Om Shanti Om’ was $1.76 million from 114 theatres on Diwali weekend in 2007.

To Khan’s delight his film is highlighted with good response from US film critics, they stated, "This riotously overstuffed and enormously enjoyable drama races forward with incredible drive."

It's well worth the 162-minute journey that reflects Khan’s excellence, Hollywood Reporter stated, "It's well worth the 162-minute journey" noting "Shah Rukh Khan comes to America (although in a Bollywood film) and shows why he is an Indian mega-star."

‘MNIK’ is stated to be a sweeping epic in the melodramatic Bollywood manner. As per the sources, "a sweeping epic in the melodramatic Bollywood manner yet emerges as a potent, engaging and timely entertainment." MNIK "is a potent, energetic heart-tugger and Khan and Kajol, major Bollywood stars, are highly appealing and equal to the demand of their emotion-charged roles."

It is beautifully portrayed in a fairy tale style about the perils of goodness. "At its best 'My Name Is Khan,' set mainly in America, is an affecting fairy tale about the perils of goodness. MNIK is one of a handful of Hindi films ('New York'. 'Kurbaan') about Indians living in a paranoid, post-9/11 America, and there's something fascinating about looking at this country through a Bollywood lens, even when the story is a kind of fairy tale. Skillfully directed by Karan Johar and with an evocative score by Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy, 'Khan' jerks tears with ease, while teaching lessons about Islam and tolerance.”

With so much positive response from the film critics of US media and intense public response, Khan’s hard work seems to ripe a fruitful reward. Good Luck!
