Shabana Azmi and her creative and illustrious husband Javed Akhtar have been invited to spend a few days at the Buckingham Palace as Prince Charles' personal guests. The actress and social worker herself confirmed that her husband and she have been invited by Prince Charles for a four day visit to Buckingham Palace from July 12 to 16.
On the motive of the invitation, the actress revealed that it is essentially to discuss long-term India-Britain relations with regard to charitable causes. Amongst others illustrious Indians invited as the royal guests are industrialists Mukesh Ambani, Laxmi Mittal and Ratan Tata. Shabana Azmi further divulged that they will deliberate on how to further charitable links between the two countries, which shall include closer collaboration between the Ratan Tata Trust and the Prince Charles Trust. On being asked about what she would wear at the Buckingham Palace visit, the actress was a little clueless. Shabana, who is well known for her sartorial elegance remarked that her penchant for colors and threads is something, she has inherited from her mother.
