Two times former champion Serena Williams easily defeated Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 6-4, 6-0 in the quarter final round of the 2008 Wimbledon Championships on Tuesday, July 1. This victory has brought Serena closer to the Wimbledon final where she would be facing her sister, Venus Williams. In the second round, Serena had ousted Urszula, the younger sister of Agnieszka Radwanska, on the Centre Court squashing all Wimbledon hopes of this Polish family through her powerful play.
The Sixth seed Serena Williams, who has been focusing on peaking for Wimbledon, dropped service once during the first set. But thereafter she consistently flustered her 19 year old opponent and never gave her opportunity to settle to a rhythm. Serena Williams is yet to drop a set this year at Wimbledon. She has now joined her sister in the semi-final round by winning the second set comfortably. Infact Serena Williams controlled the match right from the word go and served 11 aces.
