Sarah Palin has taken the online world by storm. This is evident, with her name turning out to be the most-searched-for political term on Internet. The US online tracking firm Hitwise claimed that Sarah Palin has reached the top spot with two per cent of all political searches in a period of four weeks. Reports say that the name 'Palin' alone grabbed the fourth position in the search results. Names of Barak Obama and John McCain are also on the list of most-searched political term at the second and fifth position respectively. Barak Obama accounts for 1.9 per cent of all political searches, said the firm.
This online competition, with Sarah Palin at the top search result, has assisted the cause of McCain as far as the US Presidential election campaign is concerned. According to Hitwise it is due to Sarah Palin that McCain's website has been able to reduce the difference of points with that of Barak Obama. In July results, Barak Obama's website was way ahead of McCain's one. Also, Sarah Palin related videos have swarmed the online world, with You Tube putting about 130,000 such video clips on their site.
