The US Presidential Campaign of John McCain once again is reeling from a jolt as The National Enquirer tabloid is preparing to publish a story about Sarah Palin alleging that she had an extramarital affair with her husband Todd's business partner. Sarah Palin, a mother of five, was recently declared as a plausible running-mate for McCain.

It is being claimed by The National Enquirer that this alleged extramarital affair was widely discussed in Alaska and that the 44 year-old fisherman Todd Palin cut off all relations with the friend. The McCain campaign rejects this allegation and has even threatened legal action against the Enquirer. 'It is a vicious lie. The smearing of the Palin family must end, said Steve Schmidt, the senior advisor of John McCain.
