Sanjana Jon, who is the sister of designer Anand Jon, will be making her debut in India with the forthcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.
“The inspiration for my show is family and siblings and how we stand up for each other. I’ve spoken to Sushmita Sen and she’s agreed to walk for me. I’ve also got in touch with Riya and Raima Sen. Singer Shibani Kashyap and her brother will be walking too. The theme of my show will be based on love for your siblings. I’ve dedicated my collection to my brother Anand, who’s serving a 59-year sentence in a US jail,” Sanjana told a leading news daily.
She added, “I have to mention Salmanbhai. He’s agreed to walk the ramp and I’ve invited his sisters Arpita and Alvira to walk with him.” And what about the collection? “I’ve got most of it done in the US and while we’re talking, it’s being shipped to India,” she said.
When she was asked about the contempt of court charge on her, she mentioned, “Yes, a fine has been imposed on me because I spoke back to the juror. Once I get back to the US, I have to pay a fine of 1,000 dollars and do community service for five days,” she said.
FDCI president Sunil Sethi says, “Yes, it’s true that there’s a slot for a sponsored show and talks are on with Sanjana for this show. She’s started preparations and this sponsor is a south India-based one. This show may happen on October 24 or 25, and it may see a lot of celeb presence. I can confirm this in some days.”
