Imran Mirza, father of Sania Mirza has said that Sania will not be able to participate in US Open tennis tournament. According to her father Sania is struggling to come to terms with her game since undergoing a wrist surgery to repair a torn capsule.

 

Mr Mirza further informed that doctors have advised her to go for complete rest for an initial period of three weeks. Earlier, she has gone through an intensive test regarding her wrist injury. Mirza showing his concern said the injury had forced Sania to retire in her first round singles match in the Beijing Olympics.

 

Evidently, Sania in the month of March in Miami had injured her right wrist during the Indiana Wells tournament. Commenting on her absence at US Open she said she has always done well at the U.S. Open and it is very disappointing for her to miss a Grand Slam on her favorite surface due to her wrist injury.
