The female face of tennis in India, Sania Mirza has signed up noted Aussie physical trainer Amir Takla in a bid to bounce back into the action mode. The Hyderabadi lass remained off the tennis court for a good part of 2008 due a wrist injury.

Sources inform that 21 year old Sania Mirza will initially be training under the Aussie for six-week duration, starting September 2. Mirza injured her right wrist during the Indian Wells tournament in late March, due to which she even underwent a surgery at Miami in April.

The high point of Sania Mirza was when she touched the 27th ranking in August last year. Due to the injury, however, she had to skip the French Open. Even though she played in Wimbledon, Mirza for most part was found struggling with her game.

This did not stop Sania Mirza from playing at tournaments in Stanford, Los Angeles and Stockholm. But then her wrist condition turned really bad and she eventually had to pull out from the first round singles match at the Beijing Olympics. She later pulled out of the US Open too.
