The Indian female tennis ace, Sania Mirza will not be playing in the approaching French Open tennis Grand Slam. This is because her right wrist has not yet completely healed from the surgery she recently underwent. This news may come as a disappointment to all sports enthusiasts in India, but this tennis star sadly says that there is nothing really that she can do about it.

In her recent statement issued on Sunday 18 May, this popular 21 year old Hyderabadi lass said said, ‘I am naturally disappointed at missing the French Open, but there are certain things beyond one's control and I hope to be back on the circuit soon.’ The clay court Grand Slam is scheduled to kick-start in Paris on 25 May. Since playing her first Major, the Australian Open in the year 2005, the French Open will be the first Grand slam Sania Mirza will skip due to the surgery.

Sania Mirza had to undergo a surgery on 10 April at Florida in the US in order to repair a capsule tear in her serving wrist. Though the cast was removed from her wrist on 5 May, Sania Mirza is now taking a medical rehab under Renuka Pinto, her personal physiotherapist. After recovering fully, this popular Indian tennis star plans to return to the game for the Tier 3 DFS Classic in Birmingham. Sania Mirza is presently world-ranked 33 in singles and 19 in doubles.
